Zakir Khalilovich Abidov was born on October 25, 1964, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Hestudied at the Tashkent University of Transport (1981-1986). From 1986 to 1988, heserved in the armed forces. He worked at Glav Tashkent Stroy Company (1988-1990).From 1990 to 1996, he served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic ofUzbekistan, and from 1996 to 1998, he served in the Consulate General of the Republicof Uzbekistan in Istanbul. From 1998 to 2017, he served as Head of the Secretariatand Deputy Chairman of the Council for Cultural and Educational Relations withFriendship Associations and Foreign Countries. Since 2017, he has been the Headof the Department of International Relations at the Committee on InterethnicRelations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
